I’m a little torn about this place. The very first time I went I had the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had in my life. Unfortunately, every subsequent visit has been a serious disappointment. Not bad, mind you, just nowhere near as good as the first time I went. I’m not really sure what’s up. Maybe the chef was feeling extra adventurous the first time and sprinkled some cocaine on it. Or maybe I was drunk. The point is, I’m going to order the Eggs Benedict every single time I come here until it lives up to my expectations. I’ve had it at both the Costa Mesa and Santa Ana locations and still no luck. It’s like my white whale. My Everest, if you will. And while some may say comparing eating an Eggs Benedict to scaling the tallest mountain in the world to be a bit of an exaggeration, to them I say, “I like turtles.”
