Rosine’s is a little Mediterranean restaurant in Anaheim specializing in rotisserie chicken. This place got fairly high reviews by locals, so I dropped by for lunch after a painful rock climbing session nearby. As their name implies, they’ve got a bunch of rotisserie chickens hanging in the front window, so if you don’t order something with chicken you’re probably an idiot. Or maybe you’re the kind of person that goes to a pizza place and orders a hamburger. In which case, yes, you’re probably an idiot.

$8.50 Rotisserie Chicken Pocket (lettuce, tomato, garlic sauce) – The waitress recommended this since it contained their rotisserie chicken as well as their garlic sauce. I debated whether or not the chicken in pita sandwich form would be as good as the chicken off the bone, but caved since I was hungry and lazy and a pita sandwich seemed like much less work than eating an actual chicken. The pita itself was slightly crispy, which is a small thing, but made me really happy. The chicken was moist, the garlic sauce was subtle, and overall I’d have zero problem coming back here and ordering this for lunch. A solid chicken pita sandwich if I’ve ever had one. Which I have. From here. When I ordered it. My only complaint would be that it’s actually not that much food. Without the sides, I probably could have comfortably finished two orders.

Ratatouille – Like oven roasted vegetables? Then you’ll like this.

$9.95 Sirloin Shawourma (Lebanese gyro – lettuce, roasted tomato, herbed red onions, tahini sauce) – The tahini sauce was good and went well with everything, but the actual meat was kind of dry and tough. It’s still good, but if you’re deciding between this and the chicken, go with the chicken.

Hummus – People kept raving about the hummus, but honestly, how do you mess up hummus? If you’ve ever had hummus, then you know exactly how this is going to taste. Yeah, it’s good, it just tastes like every other hummus I’ve ever had.
