Mole de Pollo (chicken thighs stewed with chocolate, chile, toasted almonds and figs) – I ate this whole thing thinking it was pork, and it wasn’t until my eating partner corrected me that I realized it was chicken. Yeah, you wish your palate was as sophisticated as mine.
I’m not really familiar with Taco Maria, but judging from their menu they’re some sort of gourmet street taco food truck. Since I couldn’t decide what kind of taco I wanted I just ordered one of each. Luckily they only had four on the menu and not something like thirty, otherwise I’d probably be posting this from a hospital bed instead.

Arrachera (grilled marinated beef hanger, charred shisito peppers, applewood bacon)

Carnitas a la Naranja (pork shoulder slow-cooked with cinnamon and orange, avocado, hibiscus radish)

Jardineros (roasted pumpkin, black beans, queso cotija and salsa de semillas)
