Sorry for the lack of updates. I’m notoriously lazy, even when it comes to things I enjoy. Anyhoo, Handa Rolla Masta? I’m not sure if I’m supposed to find this offensive. It seems like I should, but I’ll assume the owner is Japanese and let it slide. The food was good, but pretty typical of what you’d get if you ordered any Western style roll from a Japanese restaurant. I suppose the only only real difference is that they use soy paper instead of the typical nori to wrap their rolls. I’m assuming the novelty of this truck would appeal more to people who have no exposure to Westernized Japanese food. But to anybody who does, it’s pretty standard stuff. I also want to mention I didn’t get sick, so bravo to them for alleviating my fears of ordering raw fish from a truck. I was half expecting to spend the remainder of the day on or around a toilet.

Adeline’s Favorite (shrimp katsu, spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado, crunchy flakes, HRM sauce) – The soy paper wrap adds a little personality to their hand rolls, though I don’t fully understand why they didn’t opt for the more traditional seaweed wrap. Maybe they love soy. Or maybe they hate nori. The only thing we know for sure is that I’m incredibly smart and sexy. And, honestly, isn’t that all that matters?

Hot Damnit (california roll topped with baked salmon, lemon aioli and HRM sauce) – If you eat at Japanese restaurants that serve Western style rolls then you’ve probably tasted something similar to this. Good, but pretty much exactly the same as any other baked roll you’ve probably had.
