Studio was built by The Montage Laguna Beach as a small Craftsman-style house atop a bluff with ridiculous views. I’ve maintained that they’re the best restaurant in Orange County and it’s because they’ve got the best food, but it might partially be because they’ve also got the best views. It was already dusk when I dined there this time, but I guess it’s easier to focus on your food when you’re not being distracted by palm trees, and the ocean, and the setting sun, and all the other things nature throws at you to make your jaw drop. The chef’s six-course tasting menu runs $140 and it’s another $175 for the grand wine tasting. It’s a little strange they charge more for the wine pairing than the food, but some people take their alcohol seriously. I am not one of those people, because to me alcohol tastes like pee pee.
NOTE: The photos for the past few posts have been horrible because I had just gotten a new camera and didn’t really know how to use it. They’ve since improved, I promise. Or they’ve gotten worse. I don’t really know, because I’m actually blind. Am I even typing on a computer? This might be a potato.
