It’s got a bit of a generic name, but Fresh Roast in San Gabriel allegedly serves Kopi Luwak, though I didn’t order it so I can neither confirm nor deny that. If you’re unfamiliar with Kopi Luwak, it’s one of the most expensive and lowest-production coffees in the world. It’s made from the beans of coffee berries which have been eaten by civets and pooped out. Yeah, this is the cat poop coffee that you’ve probably heard of. I didn’t get that though. Not because I didn’t want it, but because I didn’t realize they had it until I had left. The coffee I did have, though, was pretty damn good. Sure, it didn’t taste like it had been picked out of poop, but sometimes that’s okay.

Coffee Lover (coffee, caramel, condensed milk, and steamed milk with foam) – Sweet, creamy, and delicious. Just the way I like my sweet and creamy coffee drinks. But most importantly of all, it’s not too sweet or creamy. It finds that sweet spot of sweet and creamy that all sweet and creamy coffee drinks aim for. I wonder how many more times I can type sweet and creamy before somebody says something. Something sweet that is. Or creamy.

Egg Waffle (peanut butter, nutella) – I wanted this to be delicious. I really did. But it was just so meh. The filling was too sweet and the actual egg waffle itself was a bit stale. I’d order it again if I was craving egg waffle (which happens more often than you’d think), but my quest for the perfect egg waffles continues. And when I say quest I mean I’ve been looking for all of ten minutes on Google. Okay, fine, I was looking for pictures of naked ladies. Same thing. Leave me alone.
