Red Curry with Beef
If you’re looking for value, Thai Gulf has you covered. Every order comes with soup, a salad, an egg roll, two fried wontons, and unlimited Thai iced tea. Which is strange, because they also list Thai iced tea on the menu for like $2.95. I can only assume if you end up paying for a Thai iced tea you’re a chump. Value aside though, the food at Thai Gulf is solid. Everything tastes the way it’s supposed to taste, and I’ll mention that the roasted duck red curry is especially delicious. The food isn’t quite as spicy as some other Thai places I’ve had though. I ordered mine medium which is usually pretty spicy from a Thai place, but mine barely had any heat. Next time I’ll probably crank it up to slightly below their spiciest option and hope for the best.
One other thing I’ll mention is that I was extremely disappointed with their mango sticky rice dessert. Either they didn’t cook it long enough or they put the wrong ingredients in, but the sticky rice wasn’t the right consistency and the flavor just didn’t taste right. It was disappointing, since everything else was so good. Plus I usually love sticky rice, making it doubly disappointing. And with that much disappointment what option did I have except to run home, weep, and then write in my diary about the whole ordeal.
