Really Good French Toast $7.95 (Four halves of thick brioche bread, dipped in their own batter, then grilled to a golden brown and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Served with warm syrup, bananas, strawberries, and blueberries.)
Home Restaurant is located in the fairly hipster Griffith Park/Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. I had the Really Good French Toast because I love french toast and if I see something on your menu called Really Good French Toast the odds of me not ordering it are somewhere along the lines of zero percent. You have the option of adding bananas, strawberries, or blueberries for an additional $1.75 and because I’m a glutton I asked the waiter if they could add all three. He said he’d ask and of course they could, but he never mentioned I’d be charged $1.75 for each, so my french toast ended up costing around $60. Wait, that doesn’t sound right. $200? My math isn’t so great. All in all, the french toast was pretty standard. Not sure if it deserves the ‘really good’ designation, but I’d give it a solid ‘good.’ The quest for really good french toast continues! Next stop: yo mama’s house!
