Eat Chow has kind of a weird location. It’s situated in The Closet fashion boutique on Newport Blvd, and depending on where you enter from you’re either in a restaurant or a store that sells baby clothes. The place does slightly upgraded comfort food, and I’ll admit I’m a bit partial to their truffle Parmesan fries. “But everybody does truffle fries,” you whine. Yeah. I know. But these guys don’t go crazy with the truffle oil, and it’s the subtlety that makes their fries so delicious. Plus, I mean, c’mon. Fries. Do I really have to convince you to eat fries? What are you, a Nazi? Wait, did Nazis eat fries? Nevermind.

Truffle Parmesan Fries – I don’t think I’ve ever not ordered these when I’ve come, and I don’t plan to change that anytime soon.

Bajio Style BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich (sweet and spicy slaw, whole grain mustard aioli, Manchego cheese, toasted brioche bun, side salad) – This was one of their specials and it was pretty delicious. Tender and moist, just the way I like it. The pork wasn’t bad either. Am I right, guys? Am I right? No? Too much? It’s okay, my sophisticated and intelligent humor isn’t for everyone.

Pan Seared Salmon Sandwich (grilled asparagus, shaved red onion, tarragon caper aioli, roma tomatoes, toasted brioche bun)
