NOTE: I’m still playing catch up so this review is from months ago because I’m the world’s slowest (and probably worst) food blogger.
BlueSea is an unassuming Vietnamese fusion restaurant located in a small San Jose shopping plaza. The inside reminds me of a bubble tea lounge transitioning into a nightclub, though I still haven’t decided if that’s a good thing or not. The food exceeded my expectations, though I should mention I didn’t actually have any expectations. I had never heard of the place and didn’t even know it was Vietnamese fusion until I saw the menu. I’m not sure how to explain it, but everything was just slightly better than it had to be. Maybe the decor threw me into thinking I would be eating horrible lounge food so anything that wasn’t cold hot wings automatically gave me a positive impression. Plus apparently they’ve got lobster pho now, and word on the street is that both lobster and pho are delicious. I can only imagine what you get when you put the two together. Probably, like, something that tastes like pizza? Maybe not.

$14 Shaken Beef [Bo Luc Lac] (filet mignon, onion and bell pepper, side salad, French red rice)

$8 Thai Hot N’ Spicy Wings (thai style chicken wings seasoned with spicy sauce)

$8 Rocket Shrimp Rolls (shrimp, wonton wrapper, scallion)

$11 Pho Kobe (thin sliced beef, pho noodles, beef broth)

$13 Yellowtail Shooters (raw yellowtail, avocado, truffle oil, ponzu sauce, red radish, jalapeno)
