I usually drink my coffee with plenty of cream and sugar unless I'm feeling particularly manly then I'll take it black. I always screw up my coffee when I add my own cream and sugar though, so I appreciate a place like Philz Coffee where they do the adding for you. You specify the level of creaminess and sweetness and they do the rest. I got the Jacob's Wonderbar Brew which is named after Phil'z only son Jacob and is described as boasting "delicious layers of nuts and chocolate filled with a full-bodied flavor and finished without any acidity or bitterness." I don't know about any of that, but the coffee wasn't too sweet or too creamy, and I could still taste the flavor of the coffee. Apparently properly made coffee isn't suppose to taste like a combination of sour water and sugar. Go figure.
